Soft soled baby shoes has been the only product that Peanutstore has been selling since we started 2 years ago. Just recently, we have decided to expand the range of products to the webstore.
The new range of products arrived one week ago and consist of around 15 designs of different toddler bags, pencil case, key chain and tissue box. Depending on the response, we will progressively bring in new designs and products in the next few months.
Let's see if it is better than the soft soled shoes. :)

Tell us why you decide to open this blogshop or online shopping store?
ANS : I realised that it is important to have a secondary income apart from my full time job. We thought that the business should not be capital intensive and should allow us to try it out before deciding if we want to do it full time. That is why we started a blog on blogspot.com. It does not cost us anything to set up the blog yet it offers a platform to sell our product.
Can you tell us a bit more on what your blogshop offer? (eg. dresses, tops etc.)
ANS : We sell soft soled baby shoes for 0 to 24 mths. These are very adorable shoes meant for young walkers. The sole of the shoes are soft and made of anti-slip materials to enable them to sense the ground beneath their feet and to grasp with their toes as they learn how to walk. The shoes are very light and made of leather to protect the delicate feet of the child. They are flexible and bend fairly easily in order not to restrict with the foot’s natural motion.
Tell us in few words that best describe the type of fashion (or the things you sell) in your Blogshop
ANS : After we decided to set up an online business, the next question is what to sell. We wanted to sell something special and close to heart. Since we are the parents of 2 daughters, we decided to sell baby products. Something that is close to heart at this stage of our lives.
Who are mostly your online buyers or shoppers?
ANS : We sell wholesale to United Kingdom, Australia and Malaysia. In Singapore, most of our customers are actually parents (mostly mothers) buying shoes for their kids. Of course, some buy as presents for birthday party as well.
Any last word for your online buyers /fans / shoppers of your blogshop out there?
ANS : Please visit our blog and facebook to see the range of designs. The shoes are of excellent quality and most importantly, they are adorable.
For the past 1 - 2 years, we have been using this blog as a platform to sell soft soled shoes. When we first started out, we need a "place" to sell our product. We simply cannot afford to rent a shop and it was also too risky to pump in money to a new venture that we are not sure of. Who is going to tend for the shop?
Blogspot seems to be the perfect place. It free and many people have used it to sell their own products. We managed to search the website for some blogspot templates and we are grateful to those who have shared the template to the community free of charge. You can find the link to our template at the footer of our blog.
We tried to see if we can have shopping carts embeded into the blog but did not manage to do so. And we are glad that we did not manage to do that. With a shopping cart, buying a product (or soft soled shoe) seems to be an automated process (like a ATM machine).You choose the product, choose the size and checkout. You do not need a sales person to guide you along. Since we do not have an automated checkout process, each and every customer who bought their shoes in PeanutStore, spoke to us :) And frankly, we enjoyed the process.
Most of our customers who bought soft soled shoes are mothers who buy the shoe for their kids. And through interaction, we get to know their concerns. Some are concern on the leather that the shoes are made off. Some soft soled shoes in the market are made of pig skin. This is important to the Malay customers and we are glad that our shoes are made of sheep skin. Phew...
Other customers are concern that the size would not fit their kids "chubby" legs. We always tell them "Don't worry, you can return the shoe to us if it does not fit. No problem".
As we move on to the new webstore (
